Employment Opportunity as a Full Time, Logistics Coordinator

 A progressive, service-oriented ag retailer is currently accepting application for a full-time position at our Rivers Location.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of product
  • Monitor department's performance, prepare reports for senior management, and plan for changes to schedules.
  • Monitoring deliveries, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining accurate data and documentation of all transportation and goods.
  • Analyze data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
  • Monitor personnel to equipment and vehicle maintenance and schedule work shifts
  • Prepare and maintain various reports on the progress of work, materials used, volume of product/good and other related product information, using computerized systems.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business related program or equivalent is a definite asset
  • Experience in transportation operations are an asset, including supervisory experience.
  • Able to work as a member of a team in a fast paced environment and, communicating effectively with both colleagues and customers.
  • Must be organized and logical, willing to adapt quickly to product and customer demands.  
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong time management, organizational and administrative skills

Payroll /Group Benefits Administrator

 A progressive service-oriented Ag retailer is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time, permanent position at our Rivers or Brandon location.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements, using a computerized system
  • Prepare employee payments and benefit payments by cheque or electronic transfer
  • Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of group benefit, WCB, and government related benefits.
  • Prepare T4 statements and other statements
  • Provide information to employees on payroll matters, and benefit plans.
  • Compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts internally as well as to required external required agencies.Batch time cards and prepare information for entry into payroll software.
  • Enter earnings, ensure all changes and additional requests are entered into the appropriate database within corresponding pay period.
  • Prepare routine letters and correspondence as required.
  • Other administrative tasks as required to support the payroll and benefits functions.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Related post-secondary training ( Accounting, Business Administration, Payroll)
  • Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) Level 1-2 completed or currently enrolled.  
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks on a daily basis, meet fixed deadlines, and adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum three years related experience considered an asset.
  • Confidence in handling sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel,).

 Sales Agronomist

  Redfern Farm Services is a prominent agriculture supply and service company with 11 outlets throughout southwestern Manitoba. Redfern’s has a strong belief in the value of the total customer experience. We continually look for those special motivated persons to fill a Sales Agronomist role at various locations.

 The successful candidate will responsible for providing crop and fertility planning as well as field scouting services to our valued customers. While performing those tasks it will be expected that the successful candidate will promote the sale of products and services Redfern Farm Services can provide to our valued current customers as well as potential customers.

 The ideal candidate should possess a solid agronomic background and maintain current customers as well as expanding to achieve a greater market share. A post-secondary education in agriculture is preferred but extensive experience in the areas of agronomy and sales would be considered. Anyone meeting those qualifications and has a passion for their career in the challenging agriculture industry is strongly encouraged to apply. Branch Manager 

  This individual will be responsible for providing overall direction, management, supervision and assistance/participation to all aspects of the branch to ensure the best possible customer experience and staff buy-in. A high level of customer service and expertise is required to encourage continued growth in the Redfern Farm Services client base and company profitability. The Branch Manager will report to the Area Manager, and would closely with head office personnel. A strong belief and practice in safety and a on going development of a safety culture at this location.  

  This position will have the following direct reports: Operations staff (FT&PT), Office Administration staff.  

  ACCOUNTABILITIES:  

  Operational—personnel management, policy adherence, assist in budget creation/monitoring, inventory management, assist in pricing strategies for location, on-time/accurate customer invoicing; Credit—credit grants, monitor accounts and address outstanding/near outstanding accounts; Sales—marketing, advertising, cold calling, customer contact pre/post sale, ability to “sell” the total Redfern experience to customers; Communication—provide recognition, staff performance updates, ongoing feedback, new employee training, continuous communication with team and head office staff, conduct performance reviews.  

  Experience:  

  3-5 years in a similar role, secondary education in agriculture/agribusiness

  Skills & Abilities:  

  Must have: Excellent written and oral communication skills, Clear understanding of financials/budgets, Management/leadership experience with people and operations Agronomic/technical product knowledge Have or be able to obtain Pesticide Dispenser Course/Cert., Ammonia cert. Computer experience (MS office, Outlook, other industry programs Valid driver’s license 

  Desirable: Inventory management experience Equipment experience Custom Applicator license/cert. Eligibility for membership with the Manitoba Institute of Agrologists would be a definite asset. We thank all who apply but only selected candidates will be contacted.
