Sales Agronomist
Redfern Farm Services is a prominent agriculture supply and service company with 11 outlets throughout southwestern Manitoba. Redfern’s has a strong belief in the value of the total customer experience. We continually look for those special motivated persons to fill a Sales Agronomist role at various locations.
The successful candidate will responsible for providing crop and fertility planning as well as field scouting services to our valued customers. While performing those tasks it will be expected that the successful candidate will promote the sale of products and services Redfern Farm Services can provide to our valued current customers as well as potential customers.
The ideal candidate should possess a solid agronomic background and maintain current customers as well as expanding to achieve a greater market share. A post-secondary education in agriculture is preferred but extensive experience in the areas of agronomy and sales would be considered. High Clearance Sprayer Operator (Various)
As a Sprayer Operator for Redfern Farm Services, you will be responsible for:
Mixing and applying crop inputs to fields using sprayer equipment.
Recording application data.
Loading and unloading containers, pallets and products.
Assist location staff to prepare required supplies for the days applications.
Assisting with facilities with other required tasks.
Assisting with customer service.
May assist with field inspections and track inventories.
Other duties as assigned

Location Assistant (Redsper)
Location Assistants contribute to the success of our Redsper location by ensuring they embrace safety, function in an efficient manner and are an integral contribution to the profitability of the operation of our seed handling business facility. Specific responsibilities include the operational support of the mill, treater and other location functions as well as assistance to location staff and customers; the operation of facility equipment and controls; and providing excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate will possess proven communication and interpersonal skills; ambition and organizational skills; an orientation to accuracy and detail and excellent customer service skills. An agriculture background or experience in a seed handling facility is an asset. Minimum valid Class 5 MB driver’s license and ability to operate various Ag related equipment.

ASSISTANT PLANT OPERATOR (Redsper)

The successful candidate will responsible for the day to day operations of the Mill . Cleaning over 3000 mt per year and good room for growth in the business this opportunity provides stability and an exciting future.
Duties:
- Coordinate with Manager on daily priorities
- Perform all pre-shift and workplace examination prior to operating equipment
- Assist Manager as needed by observing equipment, conducting and examining quality tests, setting and adjusting controls to ensure efficiency and conformance to quality specifications.
- Operate milling equipment
- Treat various types of seed with a G3 treater
- Complete all documentation including operational logs, product movement logs to minimize product contamination
- Diligently clean equipment between products to minimize product contamination
- Monitor equipment for wear and preventative maintenance requirements
- Performs minor repairs as required and informs Manager of repairs requiring outside contractors to minimize down time.
- Contributes to a problem solving culture and identifies and reports problems and issues.
- Achieves targets for quality and production
- Operates in a safe manner and embraces a safety culture by wearing all supplied safety equipment
- Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Diploma (required)
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferred but willing to train)
- Proven ability to develop good working relationships and work independently
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Good problem solving ability

Branch Manager (Neepawa)
This individual will be responsible for providing overall direction, management, supervision and assistance/participation to all aspects of the branch to ensure the best possible customer experience and staff buy-in. A high level of customer service and expertise is required to encourage continued growth in the Redfern Farm Services client base and company profitability. The Branch Manager will report to the Area Manager, and would closely with head office personnel. A strong belief and practice in safety and a on going development of a safety culture at this location.
This position will have the following direct reports: Operations staff (FT&PT), Office Administration staff.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Operational—personnel management, policy adherence, assist in budget creation/monitoring, inventory management, assist in pricing strategies for location, on-time/accurate customer invoicing; Credit—credit grants, monitor accounts and address outstanding/near outstanding accounts; Sales—marketing, advertising, cold calling, customer contact pre/post sale, ability to “sell” the total Redfern experience to customers; Communication—provide recognition, staff performance updates, ongoing feedback, new employee training, continuous communication with team and head office staff, conduct performance reviews.
Experience:
3-5 years in a similar role, secondary education in agriculture/agribusiness
Skills & Abilities:
Must have: Excellent written and oral communication skills, Clear understanding of financials/budgets, Management/leadership experience with people and operations Agronomic/technical product knowledge Have or be able to obtain Pesticide Dispenser Course/Cert., Ammonia cert. Computer experience (MS office, Outlook, other industry programs Valid driver’s license
